Today we climb higher toward Tilicho Lake, a 5- to 6-hour trek, located at the base of Tilicho Peak (7,134 m). Along the trail, you may see yaks and deer grazing. The changing light causes the color of the lake to change through many shades of blue. This lake covers an area of 4.8 sq km. After some time admiring the lake and surrounding peaks and snapping some photos, we will return to Sri Kharka. Today we will Stay Sri karkha.

On the way, we pass Tare Gumba, a thousand-year-old monastery, which is very important to the local people. Upon reaching Khangsar Village, we follow a rock wall out of Khangsar. After crossing Thorang Khola, walk further until reaching the small village, Yak Kharka. After yak Kharka, we continue walking to Ledar. Today we will stay at Ledar.

The Thorong La Pass will be our ultimate objective today. We will be crossing the pass from east to west (Manang to Muktinath), which is the easiest and safest direction. We get up around three in the morning and walked up the mountain. When we finally made it to the top, we realized that our journey was worth it. We can take a few photos before heading to Muktinath Valley at the foot of the Thorong La Pass.

After passing through Jharkot and Khingar villages with typical Tibetan architecture, we follow the path steeply down to Kagbeni, a primitive village famous for Tibetan architecture. We stop at Kagbeni for lunch, then trek to Jomsom.
