  • 1 Arrive in Kathmandu via respective airlines and transfer to hotel.On arrival at Kathmandu international airport you will be well received by Reasonable Treks & Tour staff and guide and then transfer you to your hotels within the hub of Kathmandu city around the most happening and exciting place around Thamel.   • 2 In Kathmandu sightseeing tour at places of interest and trek preparation.Morning after breakfast leave for our exciting cultural and historical tour around Nepal’s best World Heritage Sites which includes old Durbar Square (Palace Courtyard), Old Swayambhunath Stupa and other places of interest with time for trip preparations.
  • 3 Drive to Syabrubesi 1,550 m (145 km) -07 hrs journeys.Starting this short and moderate adventure of a week duration taking an early morning overland drive to reach Syabrubesi starting point of the trek, drive leads on winding uphill and downhill road, past farm villages and towns through Trisuli Bazaar, around sub-tropical climate and then journey leads to cooler alpine temperature as the landscapes changes with the culture and as well people, reaching at Dhunche 1,965 m high, major town of Langtang area and headquarter of Rasuwa district. from here start of Langtang National Park journey continues further downhill for few hours to reach our first overnight stop in Syabrubesi village.
  • 4 Trek to Lama Hotel 2,470 m - 06 hrs.Starting our first day from this traditional Tamang village at Syabrubesi and then crossing a bridge over Trisuli River, and then with climb for a while but the rest of the walk is gradual on the winding trail through the terraced farm fields and villages, as the trail descends and joins the path coming from upper Syabru at the Riverside Lodge near the place of Bamboo, after a short break continues walk on gradual uphill through nice serene alpine forest to reach at Lama Hotel near upper Trisuli River.
  • 5Trek to Langtang 3,430 m - 06 hrs.From Lama Hotel with pleasant overnight morning walk leads to Ghoretabela for lunch stop amidst lovely forest of pines, hemlocks and rhododendron from here onwards you can feel the altitude as well. after a nice refreshing stop walk continues towards Langtang valley within cool alpine forest, and then leaving the tree lines behind, as the walk leads uphill for an hour, with few short ups and down to Langtang village for overnight stop.
  • 6Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,870 m / 12,696 ft -04 hrs.From Langtang village walk leads on pleasant trail for an hour and then heading higher encountering “mani-prayer wall” where walking clockwise positive way respecting Buddhist culture and religion, walk leads further east where valley opens up with views of snow capped peaks. after few hours of gentle walk with views brings you at Kyanjin Gompa a charming and scenic spot with beautiful views of Langtang Lirung of above 7,000m and its icefall at close distance Kyanjin Gompa, surrounded by a ridge formed by glacial moraine of rocks and boulders
  • 7 Rest Day at Kyanjin Gompa enjoy short hike around scenic hills.Full rest day at scenic Kyanjin where you can visit its small Cheese factory and then hike up to Tsego-Ri, Kyngin Ri at 4,700 m / 15,420ft offering panorama of snow capped mountains with range of central Himalaya peaks, includes Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6,571m / 21,560ft), Langtang Lirung (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft) and Shalbachum(6,918m / 22, 699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks which includes Naya-Kanga 5,846m and Gangchempo, Tilman’s beautiful Fluted Peak. Beyond it extends to the Jugal Himal, terminating in Dorje Lakpa (6,980m / 22,929ft). to the east the upper meadows of the Langtang end in a massive mountain wall, forming the frontier with Tibet.
  • 8 Trek to Lama Hotel 1,550 m - 06 hrs.After a wonderful time at Kyanjin, retrace the journey back on same route to Lama-Hotel a small settlement in the midst of the forest at the bank of upper Trisuli River.
  • 9 Trek to Upper / Thulo Syabru village 2,118m -06 hrs.The trek today follows the same route for an hour, then after the bridge the walk is pleasant through the rain and bamboo forest, after leaving the river way down below, the climb starts uphill through the landslide bit of rocks and boulders, passing through farm terraces to Upper Syabru is reached also called Thulo Syabru means bigger, the village with row of houses located on a ridge with a monastery.
  • 10 Trek to Singh Gompa 3,254m or Chandanbari - 05 hrs.Morning walk leads uphill on winding path above the monastery and then gaining more height facing views of Ganesh-Himal, Manaslu, Langtang and Annapurna range towards far west, after a few refreshing stops at teahouses on route, journey continues with an hour uphill from the farmlands and into cool alpine forest and then reaching at Sing Gompa for overnight stop near its old monastery.
  • 11 Trek to Gosainkund 4,381 m - 05 hrs.The trek today offers more views of snow clad peaks of Langtang to the north and Ganesh-Himal range towards north west along with Manaslu and Annapurna range, walk leads to gradual up for an hour entering oaks, pines and rhododendron forest, after a brief stops with grand views, walk continues on uphill trail leaving tree lines and green vegetation behind for dwarf rhododendron, juniper and alpine shrubs bushes.
    The path unwinds uphill passing through few teahouses at Laurabina, means a place with walking sticks, (on auspicious time in August with full moon as per the Nepali Luna calendar, the pilgrims visits Gosainkund pond for ritual bathe and dip belief it delivers one into paradise and drink of its holy water relinquishes the sins of a hundred lifetimes) Hindu pilgrims leaves their walking stick here so the name Laurabina. from here short descend and up reaching across Saraswati and Bhiarav kund after a small climb brings you to our overnight stop at Gosainkund near its pristine pond. Here you can see lots of traces left behind by the pilgrims.
  • 12 Trek to Ghopte Odar 3,566m via Gosainkund pass or Laurabina-La 4,609 m.From Gosainkund a gradual walk on a small path along pond, and then climb near a small creek in between rocks and boulders, as the walk leads close to a small pond of Surjakund the trail here is more gradual with winding up to Gosainkund pass or East Laurabina La the highest spot of the adventure. after the top, a long descend to Phedi (bottom) at 3,694 m few teahouses, a possible lunch stop and then our journey continues east towards Helambu region and back into green vegetations of junipers, rhododendron and then reaching at Ghopte (meaning overhanging rocks) for overnight stop.
  • 13Trek to Kutumsang 2,445m via - 06 hrs.After walking around complete wilderness, walk from here trails joins of Helambu and Kathmandu; trek is pleasant into forest for an hour, with an hour uphill to Tharepati 3,597m.
    A nice spot situated on a ridge overlooking views of peaks with Jugal Himal range and Ganesh-Manaslu towards west. from here descent to Mangeghot, a nice place with grassy field, with an Nepal Army Barrack from here walking back into farm fields and to Kutumsang for overnight stop, this village with Sherpa, Hyalmo and Tamang hill tribes.
  • 14 Trek to Chisopani 2,195m via Gul Bhanjyang 2,125m - 07 hrs.Today a long day walk to scenic Chisopani, as the morning leads on winding path with few ups and downhill walks passing many rural farm areas and villages to reach at Gul-Bhanjyang located on a ridge top. After a refreshing break continues walk on nice and pleasant trail past farm villages to reach at a nice Pati Bhanjayang village, from this village with short climb to our last overnight stop at Chisopani, a nice and scenic small village close to northern hill of Kathmandu Valley rim.
    A picturesque spot rewards you with stunning sunrise views over range of peaks from Jugal Himal range towards north east and Ganesh Himal-Manaslu and Annapurna range towards west.
  • 15 Walk to Sundarijal 1,380m and drive to Kathmandu.Last day of this great adventure where morning walk leads you into lovely forested areas and farmlands, after hours of pleasant walk with views of Kathmandu Valley, and then a long descend to Sundarijal (means beautiful water) a lovely spot with cool patch of forest with monkeys and fresh streams. Sundarijal, a small farm town from here an hour drive back to Kathmandu after an enjoyable and great time on Langtang & Gosainkund trekking, as the drive leads past Jhorpati and Bouddhanath following the busy city road for some times and then back to your hotel in Kathmandu.
    Afternoon free at leisure for shopping souvenirs, evening farewell group dinner in nice Nepalese restaurants with Folk culture programs as entertainment.

LANGTANG AND GOSAIKUNDA TREK

Langtang And Gosaikunda Trek Located at the northern region of Nepal, Langtang And Gosaikunda Trek lies near the border between Nepal and China. It is regarded as one of the most magnificent and easily accessible trekking destinations in Nepal. Langtang And Gosaikunda Trek is a home to numerous peaks including Langtang Lirung (7246m), Langshisa Ri (7205m) and Langtang II (6596m) among many others. Everywhere you travel, you will find that Nepali people are very charming. You will be utterly convinced and satisfied with their hospitality. You will find quality tea houses properly spaced between you treks. These tea houses offer comfortable accommodation and good meals. Tea houses or lodges you find along your path will offer basic twin rooms with attached or common bathrooms. Some lodges may offer you hot showers with additional charges for the service. Most tea houses along the lower altitudes will offer you internet but you will not find internet at higher altitudes. A night’s stay costs you around 500 Nrs excluding the food charges.        

TRANSPORTATION ON LANGTANG AND GOSAIKUNDA TREK

You can either take a bus or hire a vehicle to reach Langtang And Gosaikunda Trek. You will find public buses leaving for Langtang And Gosaikunda Trek for which you will have to book tickets to get a seat. Hiring a private 4 wheeler jeep is also a feasible idea. However, this can be expensive as they will charge you by the day and may even charge you for the fuel. The drive to the region is a scenic one and you can enjoy the fleeting sights of the settlements and countryside of Nepal.

FOOD & MEALS ON LANGTANG AND GOSAIKUNDA TREK

Traveling at high altitudes, you cannot expect to get the fanciest of meals. But you will surely get to taste the kind of food people eat in such areas. Tea houses will have several dishes to offer you. As per usual, you will find a larger a variety at lower altitudes and as higher you go, your choices for meals narrow down. One notable thing in the Langtang region is, at many places in this region you will only find vegetarian food. One item you will definitely find is the Dal Bhat set. This set includes Rice, lentils, vegetables and even meat in some places. Some lodges may offer you their own versions of western food such as pizzas, pasta, French fries etc. Other snacks you may find are soups, momos, noodles etc.

BACKPACK LIST ON LANGTANG AND GOSAIKUNDA TREK

Like all treks, you have to carry only what is needed. Your porter will have a designated weight you can give him. But it is important to only pack the essentials that you will definitely use in your trip. The ideal backpack would consist of:

  • Proper clothing: Strong durable warm jackets, sweat absorbent clothes for trekking, inner layers, undergarments, trousers, and socks.
  • Gears: hats, beanies, buff/balaclava, gloves, and Hiking/trekking shoes.
  • Accessories: trekking poles, sunglasses, lamps/headlamps, water bottles, first aid kits, medication tablets, toiletries etc.
  • Additional items: snacks, electronic gadgets (power bank, kindle, tablets), game cards etc.

You should have a proper bag that can accommodate all the necessities. If you hire a porter, you can add another bag under the weight limit for your porter to carry.

GUIDES & PORTERS ON LANGTANG AND GOSAIKUNDA TREK

It is highly recommended that you have a guide with you. Hiring a porter depends on what kind of a trek you are going. Guides can help you in every aspect of the trek. They can guide you through the routes as well as help you with any emergencies. Guides are like companions for your trek. They don just carry out their tasks as guides but help you with the lodges and all communication tasks so that everything is smooth. They will keep you on schedule and make sure everything is going according to plan. The number of guides and porters depends on the group you have. The larger the group, the more porters and guides are required.

ELECTRICITY/ RECHARGE & INTERNET ON LANGTANG AND GOSAIKUNDA TREK

Since the availability of Wi-Fi is now widely spread, you will get internet services at various tea houses around the lower region. The normal Nepali sim cards will also work at the lower altitude regions of Langtang And Gosaikunda Trek. However, once you gain great attitude, you will neither find internet not will the normal sim cards work. You will need the sky sim to make calls, which provides coverage in many areas. You will find landlines at some tea houses.   Similarly, electricity will be available at tea houses and as you go higher you will be charged for its use. You will need to pay hourly up to 2-4$ for charging your appliances.

GROUP SIZE & CREW MEMBER ON LANGTANG AND GOSAIKUNDA TREK

You can choose your own group size according to your preference. You may have to hire more porters and guides according to the size of your group. You may require a set of crew members if you are planning to go on camping treks. You will need porters, guides, cooks etc. They will help you set up camps as you go. For other treks, your group members must be skilled in navigating. However, travel agencies will assist you with guides, assistant guides, and porters. They will help you get through the well-established routes. You may also travel alone if you wish but it depends upon the agreement stating that you are responsible for your own safety.

MEDICAL FACILITY ON LANGTANG AND GOSAIKUNDA TREK

It is highly recommended that you bring medications that you think will be required after ample research. You can carry some common medications that can be used to deal with a headache, flu, stomach problems, etc. If you travel with a guide, he will also most likely have a first aid kit. Most guides will also be trained in first aid procedures and basic medical and life aid. There will most likely be small medical shops around the villages, which can help you with the primary treatment and common medicines. You can easily find hospitals at lower altitudes.

Traveling by the domestic airlines in Nepal can be unpredictable. The unexpected weather changes may cause flight delays and even cancellations. Apart from this, the best alternative is to travel by road. You can easily get tickets for public buses. The buses travel definite routes thus you may not reach certain places of your wish. ALTITUDE SICKNESS ON LANGTANG AND GOSAIKUNDA TREK

One of the risks of traveling to high altitude is altitude sickness. When you travel at high altitudes, the oxygen density lowers. To keep going, you have to maintain a slow and steady pace exerting minimum pressure on your body. The biggest threat of altitude sickness is that it cannot be cured or gotten rid of instantly. Symptoms of altitude sickness include shortness of breath, fatigue, insomnia, headache, nausea etc. If you experience any of these, stop your trek and take some medications or descend right away. Medications such as Diamox can help you in dire situations. By staying hydrated, getting adequate rest and acclimatizing to the location you can avoid altitude complications. If such cases do arise, consult with the trek guide to take further actions.

ACCLIMATIZATION ON LANGTANG AND GOSAIKUNDA TREK

Acclimatization is an absolutely necessary part of any high altitude travel. This is the only way your body can deal with the increase in altitude. Acclimatization helps your body produce more red blood cells, this increases the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood thus making your body adjust to the altitude change. This process can require up to hours and even days. But it is best to not take any risk and give your body the maximum amount of rest you can. You are recommended to spend at least one night or more at every checkpoint for acclimatization. This will be just enough to lower the risk of any disease you can get at high altitudes.
